01 / a quick intro
woah. im so happy you're here.
when you're filling out the 'about' section on your website it's so easy to feel like, "is this thing on?" *taps mic* so like yeah, thanks for being here and reading.
im an actor and a singer and i help other people do those things too. as you can probably tell by now, i do things a little differently around here. my goal is to make you feel safe and comfortable, and like asking questions and not knowing what you're doing is normal and good. is it working?
the truth is that i'm another human being figuring it out. i'm not interested in exploiting flaws to make you feel less than. i feel icky about marketing styles that manipulate folks into feeling like you need something or someone in order to Feel Your Best. the truth is, there's no one out there that you can hire, befriend, or get hired BY that's gunna make that happen for you. the person you're waiting for is you. (i know, i'm so sorry)
don't worry- i'm clocking the fact that i'm spending my 'about' section talking about YOU, but honestly the truest thing to know about me is that i genuinely love going above and beyond to help people. yeah, sometimes at the expense of myself. that's for Me (and My Therapist) to know and you to hopefully not find out further. but my point is- i don't feel like myself if i'm not spending my time in service of other people. i think it's how we get into right relationship with ourselves, our community, and nature.
so, here i am. *cue This Is Me by Keala Settle*
i'm learning to love life. i'm learning to bring my passions and thoughts and ideas to the outside instead of keeping them tucked away inside. this lil 'about' section is proof that i'm doing that right now— and that you can too. i'm so happy you're here.

finding my particular teaching style has been so fun and exciting. i
wasn't expecting it to be boring, but i was expecting it to be difficult!
turns out i know what i'm doing ;) (thank you, expensive AF BFA)
i really enjoy witnessing the moment something clicks for someone.
the moment someone makes a sound they've never made before.
the excited look in someone's eyes when a door opens to new
possibilities. its my favorite part of teaching.
i'm scarily passionate about helping singers believe in themselves.
singing is a mental game. i try to tell my studio the one thing i was
never taught in acting school: you.are.enough.
